Actress Angie Harmon revealed the heartbreaking loss of her dog, Oliver, who was tragically shot and killed by an Instacart delivery driver over the Easter weekend at her home in Charlotte, N.C.
In an emotional Instagram post on Monday, the 51-year-old Rizzoli & Isles star shared photos and videos of Oliver, describing how the driver “got out of his car, delivered the food & THEN shot [their] dog.” She expressed deep sorrow over the incident, emphasizing the devastating impact on her family.
An Instacart spokesperson responded to the incident, stating that they were “deeply saddened and disturbed” and promptly suspended the shopper’s account from their platform. They also assured their cooperation with law enforcement in the investigation.
Harmon detailed the events, including the driver’s claim of self-defense, despite no evidence of injury. Authorities, including the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and Animal Care and Control, responded to the scene, but the driver was not charged with any criminal offenses.
Recounting the traumatic experience, Harmon highlighted the driver’s callous demeanor and emphasized the profound loss felt by her family. She condemned the act as “despicable and inexcusable” and lamented not being able to say goodbye to Oliver.
The incident has sparked outrage and sympathy from Harmon’s followers, with many expressing support for her and her family during this difficult time.
