A woman has been swiftly transported to a hospital following an attack by a large bully-type dog in Dumfries and Galloway.
Emergency services were urgently dispatched to McConnel Street in Kelloholm on Saturday, April 27, after receiving reports of the incident around 6:25 pm.
Ambulance crews promptly arrived at the scene, where they provided medical assistance to the victim before conveying her to Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary for urgent treatment. Her injuries have been categorized as serious.
Law enforcement officers continue to maintain a presence at the location, with the dog responsible for the attack now under control. Police have cautioned local residents to steer clear of the area as investigations proceed.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland issued a statement, saying, “We received a report of a large bulldog-type dog attacking a woman in the McConnel Street area of Kelloholm around 6:25 pm on Saturday, April 27, 2024.”
