At Northumberland Dog Rescue, we’re always seeking new ways to improve the lives of the dogs in our care. One of the ongoing challenges we face is keeping the dogs mentally and physically stimulated. Simply tossing a ball doesn’t quite cut it, and the unpredictable British weather doesn’t help, with many of our dogs reluctant to step outside when it’s pouring rain.
That’s why we’ve come up with a plan for an indoor training facility, where, no matter the weather, our dogs can get the exercise and mental stimulation they need.
Fortunately, the Pets at Home Foundation has generously offered to support our vision, providing us with a grant to make the indoor training centre a reality. Thanks to their support, we’ve already identified the type of building we need—sturdy enough to withstand the elements of our open paddock and large enough to accommodate activities such as agility courses and scent work.
The more training we do with the dogs, the easier it becomes to rehome them, giving them a better chance at a happy life.
Now, we need your help to get the project off the ground. Specifically, we need assistance with preparing the foundation for the building. We plan to extend an existing concrete base to support the new structure. To stay within our grant budget, we’re seeking quotes from builders who can help with this work, as well as support from builders’ merchants who might be willing to donate or reduce the cost of the concrete.
Please consider helping us achieve this goal and make a meaningful difference in the lives of our dogs. Together, we can provide them with the stimulation and care they deserve, no matter the weather.
