A man and his dog have lost their home after a fire destroyed their house Thursday night in Walthourville, Georgia.
The Walthourville and Hinesville Fire Departments responded to the blaze on the 200 block of St. John’s Road around 7 p.m. The fire quickly spread, engulfing the roof and sending flames several feet into the air. Firefighters worked diligently to bring the fire under control, battling the flames for nearly 30 minutes.
Fortunately, both the homeowner and his dog escaped without injury. The man, who has lived in the house since 1992, reported that his most significant loss was his 1934 classic vehicle, which was severely damaged in the garage.
Despite the loss of their home, both man and dog are safe, but they now face the daunting task of rebuilding their lives after the fire. Local authorities and community members are rallying to provide support in the aftermath.
