A heartwarming reunion took place this weekend as Oreo, a dog who went missing during the Palisades Fire, was found and reunited with his family.
Oreo, a 2-3-year-old, 14-pound dog, had been separated from his family after the wildfire ravaged the Pacific Palisades area. The family, who lost everything in the fire, had been desperately searching for their beloved pet.
The League of Extraordinary Mutts, a nonprofit animal rescue organization, had been assisting in the search for Oreo, providing flyers with information about the missing dog. Oreo was last seen near 16001 Pacific Coast Highway, though the exact time of the sighting was unclear. On Thursday, a similar-looking dog was reported near Via de la Paz and Friends Street, but attempts to capture the animal were unsuccessful as it ran away.
However, after much anticipation, Oreo was located and reunited with his family. A TikTok video shared the emotional moment of the reunion, capturing the joy and relief of the family as they embraced their furry companion.
The rescue group and the community have celebrated the successful reunion, bringing a much-needed glimmer of hope after the devastating wildfire.
