A shocking case of animal cruelty has resulted in the arrest of Tonya Grose, a 36-year-old resident of Altamonte Springs, after authorities discovered several malnourished dogs and animal remains at her residence. Grose appeared before a judge and now faces five felony animal cruelty charges.
On Thursday, Animal Service officers were observed removing more animals from her home on Ballard Street. The county reported that Grose relinquished custody of at least 26 dogs, 13 cats, and two birds.
Neighbors in the area have been troubled by the unpleasant odors emanating from the house for an extended period. One neighbor, Crystal Jeffrey, expressed her heartbreak over the situation, saying, “It’s heartbreaking.”
State business records indicate that Grose registered a pet rescue named “Skys the Limit Pet Rescue” out of her residence, starting in May. The shocking discovery and subsequent arrest highlight the importance of vigilance and reporting in cases of animal cruelty, ensuring that those responsible are held accountable for their actions.
The investigation into this distressing case continues, with authorities committed to ensuring the well-being of the rescued animals and seeking justice for the mistreatment they endured.
