Armed Police and Canine Unit Dispatched to the Scene Following Attack

Oldham, Greater Manchester – A 12-year-old boy has suffered life-altering injuries in the aftermath of a dog attack, as confirmed by the Greater Manchester Police (GMP).

According to GMP reports, the grievous incident unfolded on Villa Road, Oldham, at approximately 11:30 BST this past Sunday. In the course of the attack, a 31-year-old woman was also injured, although her injuries are believed to be neither life-changing nor life-threatening, as disclosed by the police force.

In connection to this alarming occurrence, a 43-year-old woman has been apprehended on suspicion of possessing a dog deemed dangerously out of control.

A spokesperson for GMP affirmed that the canine responsible for the incident has been “securely detained” subsequent to the swift deployment of armed police personnel and a specialized dog unit to the scene.
