Angie Harmon, known for her roles in TV series such as Law & Order and Rizzoli & Isles, has made a public accusation against a delivery driver for the grocery service Instacart, alleging that he shot and killed her family’s beloved dog over the Easter holiday weekend.
The incident, which occurred at Harmon’s home in North Carolina, was shared by the actress in a viral Instagram post where she detailed the tragic events.
In her post, Harmon described the delivery of groceries by the Instacart driver, followed by the fatal shooting of their dog named Oliver. The driver reportedly claimed self-defense, but Harmon disputed this assertion, stating that the man showed no signs of injury.
Unfortunately, the family’s surveillance camera was not operational at the time of the incident, so there is no video evidence of the shooting. Harmon also raised concerns about the driver allegedly using a false identity while working for Instacart.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg police department confirmed several aspects of the incident, acknowledging that the driver claimed self-defense and that no arrests were made.
In response to inquiries, Instacart confirmed the shooting and stated that the driver involved has been suspended pending an investigation. The company assured cooperation with law enforcement and expressed sympathy for the family’s loss.
Harmon expressed her profound grief over the loss of her dog and condemned the driver’s actions as “despicable and inexcusable.” She emphasized the emotional trauma inflicted on her family as a result of the incident.
