Rescue Dog Endures Horrific Attack in Glasgow, Family Flees Home

by Lisa

In Glasgow, a rescue dog endured a harrowing attack by an XL Bully on Saturday, leaving the pet with severe injuries and its family traumatized, prompting them to flee their home.

The victim, Ziggy, a Spanish rescue dog, suffered three extensive puncture wounds to her throat and shoulder, along with numerous other puncture wounds and bruising across her body. Owner Amanda Brogan recounted the distressing incident, attributing the attack to two off-leash dogs. Brogan had previously voiced concerns about her neighbor’s canines to the local housing authorities, Wheatley Homes Glasgow, over the past year and a half.

“We’re all totally traumatised. I’ve moved my stuff out of the flat and I’m staying with my partner now,” Brogan expressed to the Daily Record. “I’m not going back there. I just can’t be there any longer because it’s not safe. My concern is that next time it’s going to be a child and they won’t stand a chance.”

Ziggy’s injuries were severe, necessitating veterinary treatment that accrued a bill of £1300. Brogan lamented the ordeal, highlighting Ziggy’s resilience in surviving the attack. However, concerns persist about the safety of the area, particularly with the dogs allegedly still present in the neighbor’s flat.

The incident prompted a response from Police Scotland, with a spokesperson stating, “Enquiries are at an early stage.”
