In a harrowing incident, a 28-year-old tattoo artist from Holt, Norfolk, Charlie Watts, endured a brutal attack by her XL Bully dog, leaving her with extensive injuries. The incident unfolded when Watts attempted to intervene as her dogs, named Juju and Titan, engaged in a violent altercation. During the altercation, Watts found herself caught in the crossfire, with Juju turning on her in a vicious assault.

Recalling the terrifying ordeal, Watts described feeling trapped on the floor as Juju sank its teeth into her left breast, engaging in what she described as a “tug of war” with her breast implants. Despite her efforts to free herself, Watts found herself at the mercy of the aggressive dog’s onslaught. It was only through the intervention of Titan, who intervened to fend off Juju, that Watts managed to escape the property.

The severity of the attack left Watts with extensive injuries, including tissue, nerve, and muscle damage in her arm, rendering it temporarily unusable. Watts recounted her ordeal, expressing gratitude that medical intervention saved her breast implant, which was initially feared to be irreparable. She reflected on her decision to postpone a planned implant replacement, realizing the fortunate outcome of her choice.

Amidst ongoing legislative efforts to address the issue of XL Bully dogs, England, Wales, and Scotland have implemented stringent regulations prohibiting the sale, breeding, and ownership of these dogs. Despite these measures, concerns persist over the prevalence of XL Bully dogs on British streets, with nearly 40,000 estimated to still remain. Tragically, since 2021, there have been reported fatalities linked to the breed, underscoring the urgency of addressing the issue comprehensively.
