Dunkerrin Church of Ireland’s Parish Fête and Fun Dog Show on Sunday, June 30, was a resounding success, thanks to the enthusiastic support of the community and participants. The event brought together locals and visitors alike for a day filled with fun, community spirit, and canine competition.
Event Highlights
The fête was officially opened by local playwright Patrick Fogarty, setting the stage for a delightful day of festivities. The dog show, a key highlight of the event, was judged by Mona Goode from County Galway, with Lorraine Malone from County Tipperary providing valuable assistance. Their expertise ensured that the competition was both fair and spirited.

Champion and Prize Winners
The competition was fierce, with many talented dogs and proud owners showcasing their best. The Champion of the Show was awarded to Richard Fogarty from Templetuohy, Thurles, with his dog Loki. Loki’s performance earned him the prestigious John Browne Perpetual Shield.
The Reserve Champion title went to Tina Morrissey from Coolnamona, Cloughjordan, and her dog Hero, who was honored with the Ernie and Joyce Reid Perpetual Shield.
The raffle was another highlight of the day, with many winners taking home exciting prizes. A special thank you is extended to PJ Wright for his role as the event photographer, capturing memorable moments throughout the day.
