In a groundbreaking move, Korea has introduced its first bedbug detection dog, a highly trained beagle named Ceco, boasting an impressive accuracy rate exceeding 95 percent.
Cesco, a leading pest control company, announced on Wednesday that it held a commissioning ceremony for Ceco, their new specialized sniffer dog.
“Ceco’s detection accuracy surpasses 95 percent, enabling swift and efficient identification of bedbugs,” stated the company in an official release.
The company highlighted that dogs like Ceco possess a brain that is 40 times more adept at detecting the unique pheromone scent of bedbugs than humans.
“Ceco can identify bedbugs at all life stages, from eggs to adults, much faster than the human eye, requiring only one or two minutes per room,” Cesco elaborated.
Despite being naturally active and curious, Ceco maintains a calm demeanor, having completed specialized training programs to hone his detection skills.
