The winner of the Pat’s Prized Pets Gold Medal Tricks Challenge for 2024 has been announced, and it’s a triumph for both the four-legged star and her dedicated owner.
Meet Phoenix
Phoenix, a six-year-old dog from Hughesville, Maryland, has taken the top spot in this year’s challenge. Living with her mom, Tia, Phoenix dazzled the judges with her impressive skill set and impeccable performance, earning three perfect 10s.
Why Phoenix Won
Phoenix’s standout trick? She excels at finding her toys with precision. When given specific commands like “Get your alligator!” or “Get your pink toy!” Phoenix navigates through her toy basket and retrieves exactly what was asked. This impressive ability showcases not only her intelligence but also the strong bond she shares with her owner.
Training Background
Phoenix’s training roots run deep. Her mom, Tia, formerly a Metro Transit Police Officer and the first female K-9 officer, instilled in Phoenix the discipline and skills required for her impressive performances.
The Competition
The challenge featured a range of talented pets demonstrating a variety of tricks, from speaking and tetherball to goal-keeping. Despite the fierce competition, Phoenix’s skill and dedication shone through, earning her the top prize: a Pat’s Prized Pets bowl.
Supporting a Good Cause
This year’s challenge also supports the annual Clear the Shelters adoption event, highlighting the importance of pet adoption and community support.
Congratulations to Phoenix and Tia for their remarkable achievement!
