Meet Hailey, a two-year-old female mixed breed known as a potcake, who has journeyed from Jamaica to Toronto in search of a new home. Despite the challenges of adjusting to her new environment, Hailey is a loyal and intelligent companion. With the right family and training, she has the potential to become a cherished member of your household.
Hailey is both crate trained and fully housebroken. However, she experiences anxiety in unfamiliar situations and around strangers, requiring time to build trust. She is particularly fearful of the dark and reluctant to go outside at night. Yet, she thrives during daylight, enjoying walks and running freely in dog parks. Her affectionate nature shines through in her love for cuddles and dog treats, especially raw carrots.
Living in an apartment has proven difficult for Hailey, as the noise from elevators and other disturbances heightens her anxiety. She would be better suited to a house where she can feel more secure. Additionally, this transition will be especially challenging for Hailey as she will be separated from her brother for the first time, potentially needing extra time to adjust.
