A woman in her thirties has been hospitalized following a brutal dog attack in Townsville, Queensland, where her arm was severed.
Emergency services responded to a distress call about a dog mauling at a property on Lonerganne Street in Garbutt shortly after 7 a.m. on Friday. Upon arrival, they found the woman suffering from serious injuries to her arm, which was lost during the incident.
She was promptly transported to Townsville University Hospital for urgent medical treatment.
Authorities attempted to restrain the attacking dog but were unable to do so, leading to the decision to euthanize the animal on-site.
The local police have confirmed that investigations into the circumstances surrounding the attack are ongoing.
This incident follows a similar dog attack in a Melbourne backyard on Thursday, where a woman sustained critical injuries and three dogs involved were shot by police.
