For dogs, nothing beats the thrill of a car ride—unless, of course, the destination is the vet’s office. The excitement of seeing new sights and spending quality time with their humans makes car journeys a favorite pastime, often leading to fun adventures like park visits or tasty treats. It’s no wonder that many dogs, eager to avoid being left behind, are determined to hitch a ride.
This enthusiasm was on full display with Eiger, a Bernese Mountain Dog who demonstrated some impressive shape-shifting skills to join his mom on a drive. Despite his substantial size, Eiger wasn’t going to let that stop him from making sure he didn’t miss out on the action.
In a delightful video shared by @whiteoaksfarmllc on Instagram, Eiger made it clear that he intended to accompany his mom when she got into the car. Ignoring the usual boundaries, he managed to squeeze himself between her and the steering wheel, showcasing his incredible flexibility for a dog that can weigh up to 100 pounds.
Even when his mom tried to coax him out of the vehicle, Eiger playfully defied her, climbing onto the console and settling comfortably in the passenger seat. With such determination, who could blame him for wanting to join the ride?
While the urge to accompany his mom is understandable, it’s also hard to imagine why Eiger would want to leave the idyllic setting of White Oaks Farm. He shares his home with his sister, Adelaide, and both dogs seem to revel in their farm life, especially as the autumn weather sets in. The joy radiating from their playful antics is evident in the numerous videos featured on their Instagram account.
Eiger’s mom humorously notes that he has quite the attitude, a fact that’s hard to dispute after witnessing his clever maneuver to secure a spot in the car. Although he may not be the easiest dog to transport, Eiger enjoys ample space to roam and play at the farm, which is certainly a fantastic alternative when car rides aren’t an option.
