This follows major clashes within the community. On one side are residents, like 70-year-old Aunt Wang, who is afraid of dogs. Whenever she sees a dog, she keeps her distance. On the other side is Ms Gu, who considers her pet an integral part of the family but is also concerned about possible neighbourhood disputes.

Lei Guoxing, secretary of the General Party Branch of Anqiu City, found after conducting a community-wide survey of residents that although most dog-owning residents have a basic understanding of civilized pet ownership, there are still some uncivilized behaviors that cause friction between neighbors.

In this regard, Lei Guoxing contacted the Shanghai Pet Association. The staff of the association provides professional pet guidance. In addition, resident designer Chang Qi also participated in the planning and design of the community’s “dog sports line”. As a result, dogs in the community now have their own dedicated trails.

According to the habits of residents walking dogs and the general walking routes of the community, two “dog sports lines” were designed for Buildings 1-2 and 5-6. The lines are carefully designed to cross residents’ normal walking paths as little as possible, and warning signs for civilized pet keeping are placed along the way. Going forward, there are plans to add amenities such as urine piles, pet toilet areas and permeable bricks. Some safe Spaces in the community will also be designated as special “pet havens.” This will allow pets the freedom to express their nature while keeping the community clean. In addition, efforts will be made to guide pet owners to choose the right route, walk their dogs at regular times, and clean up pet feces in a timely manner.

The General Party branch of the community also built a platform and carried out the activity of “finding reliable dogs” in the Mingting community. The cadre of the neighborhood committee invited professionals from the nearby pet hospital to the community to comprehensively answer the residents’ questions about pet raising. Many residents actively shared their pet ownership experiences at the event, while onlookers gave advice to pet owners on pet waste disposal and barking issues.

Through this in-depth communication, Aunt Wang’s fear and resistance to pets were significantly reduced, and Ms. Gu’s care of pets was more detailed.

Eagle Garden Community: Beautify the corridor. Floating Eagle Park is the largest residential area under the jurisdiction of floating Eagle Neighborhood Committee. Recently, the corridors of Building 33 and 34 of the complex were renovated.

In the past, these corridors had several problems. Peeling walls, lack of light, piles of debris. In response to these problems, residents put forward the idea of beautifying the corridor.

The General Party branch of the floating eagle Community will include these two buildings in the “beautiful home” corridor transformation project. On the march
After seeking residents’ opinions, the Party branch invited a professional design team. The team then developed a detailed plan based on the unique characteristics of the corridor and the specific needs of residents.

After the renovation, Building 33 and 34 were renamed as “Fashion Building” and “Chongde Building” respectively. Corridors were refreshed, floors were renovated and levelled, lighting was updated to light the way for residents returning home late, and walls were repainted to incorporate traditional elements and family traditions.

Ms. Wang, a resident, said that the improvement of the corridor environment made it more comfortable to walk home at night. Through careful design and arrangement, the propaganda language of family tradition and family training is transformed into corridor murals. These corridors are no longer just a channel for residents’ daily travel, but also a civilized channel for promoting family values.

Xu Jun, secretary of the General Party branch of the Fuying Community, said that in addition to improving the living environment, the transformation also provides a platform for inheriting and promoting good family traditions. In the future, more corridors will be renovated based on the suggestions of residents.
