KC PAWS (Kansas City Protective Animal Welfare Society), a small but dedicated animal shelter in the Waldo neighborhood just south of downtown Kansas City, received a heartwarming surprise from a local dog lover. Meghan Tallman, a passionate advocate for animals, nominated KC PAWS for the FOX4 Pay it Forward award, recognizing the shelter’s commitment to both the community and the animals it serves.
Tallman, who has not only referred animals to the shelter but has also adopted one herself, expressed her admiration for the shelter’s work, noting that it does a lot with limited resources. To show her support, she awarded the shelter a $400 gift card. “KC PAWS does a lot with a little,” Tallman said. “I would like to help them out with the $400 gift card.”
This generous gesture provides the shelter with much-needed resources as it continues its vital work caring for animals, particularly during the challenging winter season. The extra funding will help ensure the well-being of the animals and support the shelter’s operations as it works to make a difference in the community.
