Rescue Dog’s Heartwarming Transformation After Finding Her Forever Home

by Lisa

Daisy, a rescue dog who was once terrified of everything, has undergone an incredible transformation after being welcomed into a loving forever home. Tara, Daisy’s owner, shared with Newsweek how her dog’s healing journey has been a gradual process, one that has required patience, care, and lots of love.

Daisy was rescued from a flea-infested home where she lived with three pit bulls. Tara believes Daisy might have been deprived of food, as she eats her meals in a hurry, likely fearing that there won’t be enough left. The trauma Daisy experienced was evident from the start, as she was afraid of almost everything, including gentle verbal correction. If Tara said “no” to her, Daisy would often pee herself, and when she had an accident in the house, she would hide and cry in a corner.

Tara and her family have followed the general “3, 3, 3 rule” for rescue dogs: three days for initial nervousness, three weeks for settling in, and three months for bonding. However, Tara found that Daisy required more time to adjust and feel safe in her new environment. It took a week before Daisy even ventured off the couch to explore the house, but Tara remained patient and understanding throughout the process.

The change in Daisy has been truly remarkable. A recent TikTok video shared by Tara captured Daisy running joyfully around the yard, finally feeling the freedom she had long been denied. She’s also formed a close bond with the family’s child, enjoying cozy cuddles on the couch with her belly up, fully embracing affection.
