Residents of Surrey and White Rock are being urged to renew their dog licences for 2025, ensuring compliance with local regulations and safeguarding their pets.
Under municipal rules, all dogs over the age of three months must be licensed. Renewal not only satisfies legal requirements but also serves as a critical measure to reunite lost pets with their families. A post from the City of White Rock on X (formerly Twitter) highlighted that licences include guardians’ contact and pet identification details, facilitating the return of missing dogs.
The City of Surrey also emphasized the convenience of the renewal process, noting that it can be completed online, over the phone, or by appointment. Pet owners are encouraged to act promptly, with a deadline set for February 3, 2025.
Additionally, both cities provided resources detailing local dog ownership rules. For instance, White Rock enforces strict restrictions on dogs accessing the waterfront promenade and pier, while Surrey limits households to a maximum of three dogs unless a hobby or commercial kennel licence is obtained.
Renewing a dog licence is a simple step that helps protect pets and ensures adherence to community standards.
