Ardmore Animal Shelter Offers “Dog Sponsorship” to Boost Adoptions

by Lisa

Not ready to adopt a dog but still want to help? Ardmore Animal Care has launched a unique “dog sponsorship” program that lets people support shelter animals without the full commitment of adoption.

For $70, sponsors can have a sign placed in their yard, promoting a specific shelter dog in need of a home. Executive Director Kasey Renteria explained that the goal is to increase awareness about adoptable pets in the community.

“It’s a great way to advertise, show your support, and get the word out about animals that need your help,” Renteria said.

For those unable to adopt or foster, this program provides an easy way to contribute—without the barking, cleanup, or other responsibilities of pet ownership. The initiative has already seen success, with over a dozen dogs sponsored and several already finding new homes.

“In today’s world, you don’t always think about adoption unless it’s right in front of you,” Renteria added. “Seeing a sign in someone’s yard might be the reminder someone needs to consider bringing a new pet home.”

In addition to sponsorships, other ways to help include fostering, volunteering, or ensuring pets are spayed and neutered.
