A fire broke out at a residential building on Vineyard Boulevard Wednesday afternoon, leaving two people and their pet dog displaced. The Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) responded promptly to the scene after receiving a 911 call shortly before 4 p.m. regarding the blaze near 369 N. Vineyard Boulevard.
Upon arrival, fire crews discovered gray and black smoke pouring from a two-story multi-unit residential structure. A total of 34 personnel across 10 units were deployed to the scene, with the first responders arriving within minutes.
Firefighters launched an aggressive attack on the flames, successfully bringing the fire under control by 4:11 p.m. and fully extinguishing it by 4:38 p.m.
The two residents and their dog were found safely outside the building when the fire crews arrived. After the blaze was extinguished, HFD conducted a thorough search of the building, confirming no other occupants were inside at the time.
The American Red Cross is providing assistance to the displaced residents, and fortunately, no injuries have been reported. The cause and origin of the fire are under investigation, with damage estimates pending.
