The R.T. Nagar police have initiated an investigation into a complaint involving three men on motorcycles who stole a four-year-old husky named Whisky during an evening walk in Kavala Bhairasandra.
Whisky was among four dogs, accompanied by a security guard, on a routine evening walk without a leash when the incident occurred. Typically, the dogs would return with the guard after their walk.
Around 9 p.m., three men on a motorcycle approached the dogs while they were walking. The men swiftly grabbed Whisky and fled the scene. The security guard attempted to intervene, chasing after them while calling for help. He subsequently contacted the owner, Maheshwar, who rushed to the location to search for the missing husky and reported the incident to the police.
Maheshwar, a sales executive, along with friends, launched a search for Whisky and even offered a ₹1 lakh cash reward for information leading to her return. Describing Whisky as a friendly dog, Maheshwar noted that she did not resist or bark when taken away by the thieves.
The police are actively investigating the case and have acquired CCTV camera footage to identify the suspects and their motorcycle. Efforts are underway to enhance the images for further assistance in the investigation.
