GOLDSBY, Okla. — A terrifying incident unfolded in Goldsby when a woman was viciously attacked by a dog right in her own front yard on Wednesday. Tessa Fite, the victim of this harrowing encounter, suspects that the dog in question may have belonged to a neighbor who had previously sought assistance in locating her missing pets.
In a chilling account of the incident, Fite recounted the sudden and unprovoked attack by the dog, emphasizing that there were no prior signs of aggression or growling from the animal. She described the dog’s behavior as transitioning from calm to a full-blown attack mode in a split second.
Moments preceding the attack, Fite had initially spotted the dog in question near her backyard. Concerned about their size and uncertain nature, she prudently brought her own dogs back inside the house. However, shortly thereafter, she ventured outside to dispose of the trash in her front yard.
Fite explained, “As I did, they came out from that corner of the fence and popped out behind the trash can. I kind of stopped and looked at him, and then I started walking away.”
Unfortunately, her attempt to distance herself from the animals was met with chaos. The male dog swiftly seized the back of her foot and began to violently shake her, ultimately forcing her to the ground. The assailant then proceeded to drag her towards a tree line before biting the top of her foot.
The incident has left Tessa Fite shaken but determined to raise awareness about the dangers posed by unrestrained and aggressive animals in residential areas. Local authorities have been alerted to the attack, and investigations are ongoing to ascertain ownership of the dog and the circumstances that led to this alarming incident.
