by Lisa

Brodie, the 80-pound Goldendoodle, has not only taken the internet by storm but also made a courtside appearance at the Lakers-Knicks game on Monday night, becoming a sensation in his own right. Seated alongside his human best friend, Cliff Brush Jr., Brodie charmed the crowd with his basketball enthusiasm and well-behaved demeanor.

Brush, speaking to The Times in a phone interview, revealed that Brodie’s courtside presence garnered widespread attention, with many expressing they had never witnessed such a spectacle. Cleared by arena security in advance, Brodie, a 4-year-old service animal, remained glued to the on-court action, nestled either on Brush’s lap or beneath his seat, drawing admiration from fans and even catching the eye of celebrities like Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick.

Brush, who resides with Brodie in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, emphasized his trust in Brodie’s impeccable behavior, stating, “I have no worries. I trust him 100%. As long as he’s with me, he’s gonna be well behaved and in control. Yeah, I don’t worry about him ’cause he’s a good boy.”

Brodie’s journey to stardom began when Brush, a former accountant, started featuring him in social media posts. The duo’s popularity soared, leading Brush to become a full-time content creator with around 15 million followers across various platforms. While the pair is often recognized in public, Brodie’s charming antics have included throwing out the “first fetch” at Marlins games and sitting courtside at a Miami Heat game.

Their recent visit to Los Angeles for an “Access Hollywood” interview landed them courtside seats at the Lakers-Knicks game, courtesy of Lakers jersey sponsor Bibigo. Brodie’s presence was so notable that a security escort was needed to navigate the arena, and he even stole the spotlight by winning a dance-off against a human fan, earning him the title of Fan of the Game.

“By the end of the night, he was pretty much the king of the Jumbotron and running the arena,” said Brush, highlighting Brodie’s unforgettable night at the game.
