Disturbing CCTV footage has revealed the shocking moment a Maltese Shih Tzu named Princess was thrown off the top of a multi-storey car park in Perth, Western Australia. Princess, a 10-year-old dog, had to be euthanized due to severe injuries sustained from the fall, including potential internal hemorrhaging, brain injury, and spinal and pelvic trauma.
The incident occurred at the Westfield Whitford City shopping center in April 2022, and a passerby, believing the dog had been hit by a car, took Princess to a vet. The injuries were so severe that Princess had to be put down.
The owner, 26-year-old Amy Judge, was sentenced to 12 months in jail and banned from owning animals for a decade. During the court proceedings, Judge admitted to throwing her dog off the car park’s top storey, justifying her actions by claiming she did Princess a favor due to alleged abuse. In a social media post, she wrote, “I killed my dog, and I need the truth out in the open… I did her a favor because all I did was hurt her and abuse her.”
Her partner, Scott Frost, who was present during the incident, received a fine of 2,500 Australian dollars and a three-year ban from owning animals for failing to seek veterinary care for Princess.
CCTV footage presented in court depicted a disturbing scene where Judge was seen arguing with Frost, dangling Princess over the roof’s edge, and allowing the dog to walk along the roof for about eight minutes. The footage culminated in Judge throwing Princess off the roof.
The incident has sparked public outrage, and Judge’s sentencing reflects the gravity of her actions, emphasizing the need for responsible pet ownership and the consequences for animal cruelty.
