Poringland was shaken by a distressing incident that left a child seriously injured following an attack by two dogs.
The harrowing incident unfolded on Friday at approximately 9:30 AM when authorities were alerted to a situation at an address in Howe Lane. Reports indicated that a child had fallen victim to a vicious attack by two dogs.
Promptly responding to the distress call, police officers arrived at the scene. The injured child was swiftly transported to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, where they continue to receive treatment for their severe injuries.
As the child battles to recover in the hospital, the Norfolk Constabulary has taken decisive action. The owner of the dogs, described as German Shepherd and Dogue de Bordeaux crossbreeds, voluntarily surrendered them to the police. Regrettably, the decision has been made to euthanize the dogs in the interest of public safety.
This incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of responsible pet ownership and the need for stringent safety measures to protect both individuals and the community from such tragic occurrences.
