A heart-wrenching incident in Sichuan Province has resulted in two dog owners being taken into police custody after their unrestrained Rottweiler and Labrador viciously attacked a 2-year-old girl, an ordeal horrifyingly captured on video.
The harrowing episode unfolded at 8 am on a Monday, leaving the young toddler with grievous injuries, including a ruptured kidney and multiple skin wounds. The swift response of law enforcement led to the apprehension of the white Labrador’s owner, identified as Jia, by 9 pm on the same day. In a parallel effort, Tang, the owner of the Rottweiler, was taken into custody at 3 am on the following Tuesday. Police investigations are currently underway to shed light on the circumstances surrounding this distressing incident.
The injured child was immediately transported to West China Hospital at 11 pm on the very day of the attack, where a team of medical experts, led by Dr. Zhu Yuchun, an associate chief physician at the hospital, undertook a thorough assessment of her condition.
The primary concern identified by the medical team centered around the damage inflicted on the girl’s right kidney and the subsequent formation of a hematoma. Given the high risks associated with surgical intervention and the potential loss of the kidney, conservative treatment was deemed the most viable option to safeguard the child’s well-being.
This heart-rending incident underscores the crucial importance of responsible pet ownership and the need for stricter measures to prevent such horrifying attacks. It also serves as a somber reminder of the critical role of law enforcement in swiftly addressing and apprehending those responsible for such acts. The victim’s recovery remains a paramount concern for all involved.
